About the camp
From July 31st till the 9th August 2011 the 11th Haarlem Jamborette is to take place! This international scouting camp in Spaarnwoude (a recreation park between Haarlem and Amsterdam) is organized once every four years and this is already the 36th year!
What is the Haarlem Jamborette?
You can compare it to a summer camp with lots of fun extra’s. With your group you will be camping ten whole days amongst many other foreign scouts. A maximum of one third will be Dutch groups. The rest will be groups from all over Europe.
During the camp we’ll take good care of you. There are plenty shower and toilet facilities. You’ll have enough space – fitted at your group’s size – to set up camp. In the sub camp you’re staying (there are four in total) you’ll find an enthusiastic and helpful staff. While you bring your own tents and cooking equipment, the food and drinks for three meals a day is delivered in your sub camp. You’ll only have to pick it up there (and prepare it yourself of course). There’s enough time between activities to prepare and enjoy your meals.
What’s to do?
You can participate in a lot of sporty and creative activities. To name just a few: hiking, sports, water activities, arts & crafts, excursions and much more. This may sound like you would have little time for anything else, but rest assure that there will be plenty of time left to play a game of soccer, wander around the camp, meet other scouts, eat an ice cream at the ‘Mokkie’ or catch up on some sleep. The grand open air disco will be a wonderful party. The spectacular opening and closing festivities will make this camp a sensation from beginning till ending.
