Location

The Jamborette is held in Recreatiegebied Spaarnwoude (Spaarnwoude Recreational Area), a nature reserve located between Amsterdam, Haarlem and Velsen. This reserve has many hiking routes, a mountain bike track, swimming lakes and even a ski slope and a climbing wall. In addition, big events are held in the reserve every year, and in 2019 the Jamborette will be one of them.

You can get to the site by bike and car, and there is a railway station (Halfweg-Zwanenburg Station) nearby for those travelling by public transport. We have a limited number of parking spaces on site for cars and coaches of participating groups.

Arrival and Departure

The opening ceremony of the Jamborette will be on the afternoon of Sunday 28th July and the closing ceremony will be on the night of Tuesday 6th August 2019. Campsite is open from Saterday 27th July (8.00am), and will be closed at Wednesday 7th August at 4.00pm. Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to stay on the campsite for another night.

If you need transport for your group from Schiphol Airport, Rotterdam Airport, or the ferry terminals at IJmuiden, Hoek van Holland, or Rotterdam, the Jamborette will be able to book a coach for you at a reasonable price. You will be able to book this service through our webshop, the starting date will be announced later. On the arrival and departure days we will provide a shuttle service between Halfweg-Zwanenburg railway station and the campsite to transport heavy gear. As the campsite is less than a mile (1500 metres) away, we won’t offer transport for participants and their personal luggage from this station.

Camp fees

The camp fee for the 2019 Jamborette will be €335.00 per participant. The fee includes your stay, all food and drinks (you will however have to prepare it yourself), 9 days full of activities, 1 day off to do your own activities, toilets, washing facilities, hot showers and free Wi-Fi.

In addition to this, you will of course receive our famous Jambo mug and Jamborette water bottle.

It is important that we receive the camp fee soon, because we have already started the preparations for the camp. We know getting all the camp fees together is a lot of work, so we would like to receive a down payment first. Your registration will only be final once we have received the down payment. The amount of the down payment will be as follows:

  • 0 - 15 participants

    € 500,-
  • 16 - 25 participants

    € 800,-
  • 26 - 35 participants

    € 1.100,-
  • 36 - 50 participants

    € 1.500,-
  • 51+ participants

    € 2.000,-

A refund of the registration fee minus € 50,- is possible when you cancel your registration before April 1st 2018. No refund will be made with cancellation after April 1st 2018.

Discount options

As you can see from the section above, the camp fee will get you an all-inclusive camp with days full of activities. On one of these days, there will be a sub camp excursion, which usually takes the form of a visit to a theme park, and on another day, we will take you on a more cultural trip, for example a visit to Amsterdam. However, we are offering you the opportunity to substitute one or both excursions for another activity to take advantage of a discount on the camp fee. If you choose to do this, it will mean your entire group will not be participating in the excursion. If you decide not to go on the sub camp excursion, we will offer you 2 options for another activity. We will have more information about this later. If you decide to drop the cultural excursion, you will have the day to yourself to do your own activities. On this day, you will have the possibility to participate in extra activities in the area, sometimes for an extra fee, which Team Info can offer you. More information about this will be available shortly.

  • SKIPA = no participation of subcamp excursion (theme park in the Netherlands)

    € 25,- discount / part.
  • SKIPB = no participation of excursion day (Dutch cultural excursion)

    € 10,- discount / part.
  • SKIPC = no participation of subcamp excursion AND excursion day

    € 35,- discount / part.

Let us know if you would like to make use of one of these discounts before August 1st 2018.

Attention: this offer only applies to your whole scout group. It is not possible to make use of these discounts individually.

You will receive a confirmation email with a registration number. Keep this email in a safe place for future reference. You will find all the information about cancellation, changing the number of participants, etc., in this email as well.

If you have any questions about the camp fee, discount offers or payments, please send an e-mail to finance@haarlemjamborette.nl.

Renting of camping gear

The Jamborette is similar to a normal summer camp. Each group is allocated their own campsite to pitch their tents. You won’t have to go grocery shopping during the camp, because we will provide you with the food and drink for every meal. However, you will have to prepare it yourself, so don’t forget to bring cooking gear like pots, pans and stoves!

Certain items, for example tables, benches, and gas cannisters, will be available for hire and you will be able to book these via the web shop, the starting date will be announced later. You will also have the possibility to loan spars for building your camp kitchen or a nice entrance gate. These will also be available for booking via the web shop. The spars will be sold at a low price after the Jamborette, which might be a good opportunity to replenish your group’s spar stocks!

Open Day

We think it’s great fun to have family and friends visit the Jamborette to come and have a look, so we are organising an open day on Sunday August 4th 2019. On this day we will welcome all visitors to show them what the participants get up to during the Jamborette. The visitors can join in with a lot of the activities and stroll around the sub camps to visit the scout groups from all over the world.
